To spearhead the team, they are actively seeking a Long Term Acute Care Infection Control Coordinator. The Infection Control Coordinator, appointed to lead the Infection Control Department at the long-term care rehabilitation facility with 10+ beds, will undertake the crucial task of spearheading initiatives aimed at the identification, prevention, and management of communicable disease outbreaks. Responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of duties, including: Establishing and upholding productivity standards aligned with organizational objectives. Ensuring the delivery of top-tier care surpassing established benchmarks across all departments. Directing projects and programs targeted at reducing Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI). Serving as a primary reservoir of expertise in infection control and infectious disease information dissemination. Determining suitable isolation protocols based on disease or diagnosis. Coordinating closely with bed control to optimize patient placement. Conducting regular environmental tours to ensure strict adherence to infection control guidelines. Offering immediate education on identified non-compliance instances. Providing consultation on the infection control aspect of the employee health program. Conducting investigations into potential employee exposures to infectious diseases. Extending education efforts to patients, families, and staff, addressing their queries and needs regarding infection control measures. Staying abreast of evolving guidelines and regulations, promptly updating policies and integrating new guidelines as necessary. Fulfillment of any supplementary duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, along with a minimum of two years' hands-on experience in infection control and at least one year of leadership experience. Current CIC certification is mandatory, with candidates required to obtain it within one year if not already possessed.
