Mold Maintenance Technician

Job Type Full-timeDescriptionFreeman Boatworks, recognized around the world for quality, performance and comfort, is seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician to join our Freeman family. You will be responsible for assembling foam jigs, applying tooling gel, laminating, mold repairs, and welding on parts of all sizes.Responsibilities: Inspection of the parts to determine what repairs are neededRepair surface defects in tooling gel (scratches, voids, surface distortion, etc.) typically requiring use of grinders, buffers, drills, or other specialty toolsMixing and applying tooling gel and/or resins needed for repairs being sure to follow safety protocols and disposal guidelinesSpot spraying of tooling gelAssembling of foam jigsApply tooling gel to foam jigsLaminate multiple layers of fiberglass to desired thickness of mold specificationWeld and attach steel frame to new moldsBuild and frame glass master parts from existing moldsModify, repair, and finish existing glass mastersQualifications:Previous experience with gel coat and/or paint repairs preferredExperience working with fiberglass or in auto body repair helpfulFamiliarity with mixing gel coats and/or paint with activatorsGood working knowledge of repair tools (sanders, buffers, spray equipment)Detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines in a fast, paced environmentWe offer competitive pay and a great benefits package including 401(k) with company match, medical/dental/vision insurance, company-provided life insurance & long-term disability insurance, paid time off, a referral program and moreRequirementsPhysical Requirements: Including, but not limited to:Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., stretching, squatting, and bending.May require working in awkward positions or tight spaces for extended periods of timeAbility to work in a non-climate-controlled environmentExposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and some outside weather conditions.May be exposed to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, cleaners.Equal opportunities, accessibility for allFreeman Boatworks values diversity and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
