Position Summary Develops process improvement strategies and assists endoscopy technicians thorough the change. We are looking for talented individuals to be part of our team. Responsibilities Works closely with departmental leadership to ensure a proper patient care environment. Assists the charge nurse in the daily operational flow of the unit. Coordinates the operation and recording of mandatory logs for the scope reprocessing room. Practices efficient use of supplies and equipment. Participates in interviewing, screening, and selection of qualified applicants. Precepts new endsocopy technicians. Plans and holds monthly technician staff meetings. Communicates with the department management team to maintain and improve patient procedural operations. Demonstrates judgment and reasoning abilities to problem solve in regard to use of equipment and supplies. Monitors unit inventory supply weekly to assure PAR level maintenance. Assists management team in providing educational opportunities for the staff. Demonstrates, promotes, and teaches proper Scope reprocessing skills according to policy in the Endoscopy Suite. Qualifications Education/Training - High School diploma or equivalent. - Must have clinical technician certificate or equivalent. Licensure/Certification The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associate Program with the designation of Gastroenterology Technician Specialist (GTS) or Certification Board of Sterile Processing (CBSPD) Flexible Scope Certification. Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. Experience Three (3) years Endoscopy Technician experience required.
