Job DescriptionThe Oncology Pharmacist will provide quality oncology pharmaceutical care services using approved protocols in collaboration with other health professionals. The Oncology Pharmacist will report to the director of pharmacy and support our planetree approach to contribute to our mission of providing patient centered pharmaceutical care with an emphasis on accuracy and patient safety.Per Diem Commitment: Minimum 4 shifts per month. Department is operational Monday through Friday, daytime hours.ResponsibilitiesAccurately prepare and dispense medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures and protocols. Demonstrate understanding of chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, potential drug-drug interactions and potential adverse events. Provides timely and accurate drug information to other health professionals and lay persons.Participate in education for physicians and counseling sessions for patients, educating on side effects, indications and directions for use. Assures appropriateness of therapy and dose for all patient populations.Monitor safe and effective medication therapies for patients according to established guidelines. QualificationsB.S.
