**Description**

**Essential Functions**

Process customer and sales requests for shipping information including tracking/tracing of orders, communicate customer requests to plant personnel.

Prepare paperwork for shipping department for special shipments (exports, special documentation required by customer, etc.)

Copy and distribute updates to routing guides and assist shipping facilities when issues or questions arise

Act as liaison between other departments and shipping facilities

Various other administrative duties and special projects

Recruit and train all DC clerks

Create Process for DC clerks responsibilities

Hands on experience in filing, and maintaining office records

Familiar with the legal aspects involved in business processes

Expert in working on computer and other office equipment

Strong organizational and communication skills

Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Ability to handle administrative problems efficiently

Expert in scheduling work and supervising support staff

Skilled in training and reviewing staff performance

**Competencies and Abilities**

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are necessary. Computer skills are essential in the performance of the duties of this position

exposure to Microsoft Office products necessary (Excel, Word, Outlook).

**Required Education and Experience**

Logistics/Supply Chain/, freight, and/or shipping experience required. Knowledge and understanding of LTL and TL freight processes and terminology

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, DC supervisors train and supervise clerical employees, resolve employee disputes, evaluate workers and help with clerical tasks. The employee frequently is required to stand for a long period of time, walk, sit. Must use hands to handle or feel; and reach above your head.

Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and possess strong computer and organizational skills required to prioritize tasks and demands and consistently to deliver work product on time.
