Inventory Accountant

LHH is partnering with a family-owned and operated manufacturing client in the central DFW region who is looking for an inventory accountant to join their team

A background in inventory management of raw materials in a plant setting, as well as policy and procedure implementation, would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The main purpose of this role is to develop and maintain proper accounting and internal controls and practices in the inventory and warehousing functions
  • This will include using influence and collaboration when working with the procurement department
  • This role also will work directly with internal and external auditors This role will research technical accounting issues and provide guidance to accounting on how to record transactions appropriately
  • On top of that, there will be lots of opportunities to work on special projects within accounting, finance, and tax
  • Assists the Accounting team in producing accurate and timely financial statements
  • Ensures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience are a plus
  • Heavy cost accounting experience
  • Inventory experience is needed
