Job Opportunity at Taylor Hospital Taylor Hospital is a Magnet-designated facility that has been a recognized healthcare leader since 1977. It offers a range of specialty services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, surgical pavilion, pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, inpatient rehabilitation, and full-service radiology. The nursing team on the 2 West unit, which includes a 23-bed Med Surg Unit and a 23-bed Post-Surgical Unit, is friendly and supportive, mentoring new RNs. The team handles medium to high acuity patients with a 5 to 6 patient ratio. They are passionate about patient care and shared governance. The nursing role at Taylor Hospital involves utilizing the nursing process to provide professional nursing care under the ANA scope of practice. Nurses work collaboratively with patient-family centered care principles, providing quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health's policies and procedures. They are expected to apply the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of patient/family/significant other. Nurses also demonstrate knowledge of and competently perform technical procedures and use equipment properly, and document in the patient record in a timely, accurate, and concise manner. Qualifications for the nursing position include an Associate's in Nursing, with a Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years. External candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of related acute care experience and successfully complete a competency assessment. Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current nurse leader and the site Chief Nursing Officer and remain a unit-based PRN employee until they reach 2 years of nursing experience. A MI Registered Nurse (RN) license is required, along with AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS). Specialty Certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
