Manager Patient Access Operations

The Manager of Patient Access Operations is responsible for planning, implementing and facilitating organizational change while establishing and evaluating performance standards and productivity measures. Utilizes decision making processes and tools to analyze situations and make effective decisions. Utilizes Human Resources and performance management processes/systems to align individual performance with achieving goals. Responsible for counseling patients on financial liability using available financial counseling tools to achieve maximum reimbursement for patient services.

Job Responsibilities

Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.

Monitors staff performance issues and involves appropriate Human Resources, management or legal staff as needed.

Develops and documents project mission, objectives and goals needed to define project scope and gain next level approval for resources.

Models collaborative and timely delivery of performance reviews, feedback, coaching sessions and development planning with direct reports.

Leads process improvement projects/teams to improve efficiency/effectiveness of financial counseling and achieve maximum reimbursement.

Adapts to rapidly changing situations and priorities/communicates benefits and opportunities related to change to appropriate audiences.

Recognizes the needs of, and conducts appropriate conversations with, individuals whose roles are impacted by change initiatives.

Standardizes the use of effective problem solving, quality improvement, tracking and training tools such as standard operating procedures, error logs and project plans.

Periodically reviews staff competency development and develops action plans to close gaps; Conducts talent reviews and career path discussions with managers and team leaders.

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Experience - 4 years of healthcare experience to include 2 years of supervisory/lead experience.

Education - High School diploma or equivalent.
