Position Overview:

As a Speech Pathologist (SLP) in a school-based setting, you will provide speech and language therapy services to students with communication disorders and challenges. You will work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to support students in improving their communication skills and achieving academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address students' speech and language needs.
  • Providing direct therapy services to students in individual or group settings.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to integrate speech and language goals into students' educational programming.
  • Monitoring and documenting students' progress towards speech and language goals.
  • Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to discuss students' progress and make recommendations for further support.
  • Providing education and training to teachers, support staff, and families on strategies to support students' communication development.
  • Keeping current on best practices and research in the field of speech language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • State licensure or certification in speech-language pathology.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for the assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
