Responsibilities will include: performing detailed evaluations on all types of structures relating to failures, damage, defects, and maintenance and safety issues. Some assignments may include the analysis of personal injuries, construction delay, and design/installation issues related to wood, steel, concrete, masonry, Assignments may also include deposition/expert testimony. We are currently interviewing for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Stevensville, MD. Primary Duties: Inspection, analysis, and root cause evaluation of structural failures, damages, and defects Client interaction and development Write reports and present to client in addition to other parties as necessary Travel to required locations for either site inspection or trial/expert witness requirements Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited University PE license is a plus 2+ years’ practical experience in forensic investigation/Engineering with an emphasis on investigation of structural issues Direct diagnostic and problem-solving experience Working/Practical knowledge of fire origin and cause, civil/structural engineering, and/or other discipline(s) is a plus Past deposition and/or trial testimony experience a plus Required Skills include: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces as needed Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently, as well as lead and work in multidisciplinary teams Proficiency with Microsoft-based computer programs, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Organized with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to clearly articulate findings to clients both verbally and in written form Confidence/charisma for public speaking engagements to small and large groups Ability to interact socially and at mixed engagements with clients Proficiency in a language other than English a plus 401k Full benefits including Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance International Travel Opportunities Extensive in-house and off-site training opportunities Onsite employee fitness center Wellness and Fitness program Flex hours Telecommute options Casual Friday Bring Fido to work days Steps away from the Cross Island Trail and Terrapin Park Beach Short-term and long-term disability insurance After hours lab use Online Application
