Operating from facilities globally, Aerovac develops, manufactures and supplies vacuum bagging and process materials for customers within Aerospace, Renewable Energy, Marine and Automotive market segments.

Role Description

This is a paid internship role for a Processing Engineer at Aerovac, performing routine, entry-level engineering tasks under the direct supervision of a senior engineer with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering skills This is an on-site role located in Salt Lake City, UT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides general support to the engineering department.
  • Assists senior engineers in new product development; technical sales/customer interactions, 3D modeling, technical drawing creation, prototype creation, and quote preparation.
  • Identifies potential areas of product improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas.
  • Identifies and reports problems with specific processes or products to senior engineers.
  • Assists senior engineers in the development of new methods to improve product quality and process efficacy and efficiency.
  • Assists senior engineers diagnose and repair mechanical issues of production machinery and other equipment.
  • Maintains ERP data, troubleshoots system issues when related to product or operational data with the assistance of senior engineers.
  • Assists senior engineers create/test and implement new digital and physical production tooling; maintains existing tooling.
  • Performs time studies as needed to support product development, process development and ERP data maintenance.
  • Create technical written work instructions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
