Employment Counselor

Experience:
Experience assisting TSMs transitioning from the military to civilian endeavors. Able to provide information about benefits and entitlements, conducts large group instruction and individual counseling on the job search process including but not limited to networking, interviewing, writing effective resumes and cover letters, and negotiating salary and benefit packages.
Experience assessing the TSM/S’s personality and interests in translating their military experience and skills into qualifications wanted by private-sector employers. Experience counseling TSM/Ss to identify and evaluate various opportunities. Able to work well with TSM/Ss and staff and must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
Requirements:
Requires an Associate’s degree or four (4) years experience working as a Workforce Solutions or Human Resource specialist.
Knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirements for entry into those jobs.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office.
Works well with service members and staff. Able to communicate orally and in writing.
