SMT Operator/Technician

Overview:
Our manufacturing client will be hiring an SMT Operator/Technician to be responsible for all aspects of the Surface Mount area. The duties include developing SMT, reflow oven, and stencil printer programs, setting up and operating the SMT equipment.

Work hours: Monday through Friday from 6:00am-2:30pm. 100% onsite in Wilsonville is important.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, improves, and monitors production equipment processes and procedures to ensure all process and quality goals are defined and met.
  • Recommends additional equipment as needed to improve and enhance Production Operations.
  • Modify, maintain, or repair electrical, or mechanical components, equipment, or systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Acts as the technical liaison between the equipment manufacturers and production staff.
  • Oversees all preventative maintenance is performed as specified, with no less than 5% equipment down time.
  • Develop and improve SMT solder paste screen printing programs to maximize production yields.
  • Develops, monitors, and improves new and existing convection oven profiles to confirm all boards meet IPC specifications.
  • Develops and implements AOI programs.
  • Develops and implements BGA re-work profiles, procedures, and processes.
  • Develops, monitors, and improves wave solder profiles on new and existing products.
  • Acts as a back-up to the wave solder operator as required.
  • Acts as a back-up to NPI Production Information and Program development and releases to support NPI prototypes.

SMT Assembly Machines:

Screen Printer/ Solder Paste Machine: MPM/ Momentum HiE
Pick 'n' Place Machine: 1. Juki KE /2070E 2. Juki KE/2060E
Oven: Heller/1809 EXL (Machine may need to be replaced)
AOI Inspection Machine: Nordson Yestech
BGA Rework Station: VJ Electronics / Summit 1100HR (Considering new model)
(Through hole solder rework machine used very infrequently)
Board Wash Machine: Aquastorm Electrovert

Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience as an SMT Operator/Technician
  • Working knowledge of entire SMT process
  • SMT programming experience
  • Ability to read and understand assembly Bill of Materials
  • Ability to identify SMT components
  • Operating knowledge of reflow oven operation
  • Ability to set-up and operate SMT equipment
  • Experience operating stencil printer and soldering paste stencil printing
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds
