SUMMARY

Edge Autonomy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Accountant. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance and accounting department by assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

  • Financial Data Entry and Analysis: Accurately record financial transactions into the company's accounting system, ensuring proper classification and documentation. Assist in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and preparing reports as required
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing vendor invoices, matching purchase orders, and verifying payment terms. Help manage customer invoices, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain accurate records of accounts receivable
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Expense Management: Assist in reviewing employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper expense classification
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Help compile data for internal and external audits
  • Compliance and Documentation: Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and procurement, to ensure smooth financial processes and accurate reporting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Previous internship or work experience in accounting or finance
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
