We have a current career opportunity as a; Project Engineer Location: Tarboro, NC, USA The Project Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining large & small project schedules, budgets, and meeting project milestones, to ensure new products are ready for manufacturing. The department currently consists of two Engineers, supported by Cross Functional members of all departments in the facility. During the lifecycle of a new product introduction (NPI) project, team members will participate in after-hours meetings and occasionally work during normal holiday shutdowns. Job Summary: * Responsible for supporting process development of NPI. * Works with cross functional teams to determine application specific process requirements. * Provides lessons learned input to design teams through Design for Manufacturing. * Supports Customer Audits and Visits. * Create and present reports during the NPI life cycle. * Create long term capacity plans. * Ensure NPI project does not go over budget. * Support Customer requirements. Additional Functions: (Individual tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position of lesser importance or frequency) * Other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge skills and abilities: * Promote and carry out the Hitachi Core Values. * Develop strong working relationship both internally and with customers. * High ethical standards. * Critical Thinking --Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. * Problem Solving - Reviewing related information to identifying problems, develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. * Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. * Collaborations with different job functions and levels of management. * Analyze data and find insights to improve project deliverables.

Education: * 4-year Technical College Degree in Related Field

Experience: * 3+ years in Project Management in a Manufacturing environment. * Experienced with Bill of Material reviews and Equipment Cycle Time calculations. * Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts & techniques * Strong troubleshooting skills * Strong data analysis skills and ability to use data to drive continuous improvement. * Strong written and verbal communication skills to create and present concepts to internal teams and all levels of management. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel & PowerPoint & Word * AutoCAD/SolidWorks (preferred)
