We have an exciting opportunity to join our Information Technology Team as a Software Licensing Analyst.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Software and Telecom Expense Management, the Software Licensing Analyst is responsible for the processing of software renewals and recording/maintaining licenses within our SAM software, Snow License Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software licensing agreements, compliance regulations, and a passion for ensuring organizational adherence to legal and contractual obligations related to software usage.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor software license usage across the organization to ensure compliance with vendor agreements, license terms, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of software licenses, subscriptions, and usage entitlements. Keep track of license renewals, expirations, and updates.
  • Assist in negotiating licensing terms, resolve compliance issues, and optimize license agreements to meet organizational needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of software license policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient license management and compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments to evaluate software license usage and compliance. Prepare reports and recommendations for management to address any non-compliance issues.
  • Identify potential risks related to software license non-compliance and propose mitigation strategies to minimize legal and financial exposure.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on software license compliance requirements, usage guidelines, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about changes in software licensing regulations, industry trends, and best practices. Keep abreast of new software license agreements and technologies.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in software license management, compliance, or related roles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models, terms, and conditions.
  • Familiarity with software asset management (SAM) tools and license management software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • An analytical nature with a high level of attention to detail.
  • An ability to provide accurate and efficient work product under deadlines.
  • A team attitude to work and interact with departments throughout the company.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite and advanced MS Excel experience that includes filtering, vlookups, grouping, and pivot tables.
  • The ability to deliver concise summaries of detailed analysis.
  • Initiative and desire to take ownership of projects.
