Exempt SUMMARY: The Sr. Settlements and Finance Analyst will serve a vital role in ensuring all functions within the Back-Office Department are completed timely and efficiently. This role will function as the last check before finalizing invoices, reconciliations, and forecasting are completed during the normal day to day operations. It will liaise with Accounting, Risk and Front Office groups and work as part of a team that will collaborate daily to ensure essential Settlement functions have been completed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Settlements Lead, Supervisor and/or Manager and communicate progress on issues consistently Perform daily, weekly, and monthly settlement of physical and financial trading activity for Gas, Power, ISOs (ERCOT, PJM), Crude and New Energy etc. Assist in recording and monitoring all energy charges, fees etc. with ISOs (ERCOT, PJM etc.) in a timely and scalable manner Coordinate with counterparties, scheduling, and trading to resolve invoice discrepancies timely through review of contracts and volume actualization support Reconciling commodity activity with the Horizon system to ensure data integrity and accuracy and communicate impact to commercial and accounting teams Prepare high level Prepayment, Intercompany and other manual invoices timely and accurately Responsible for ensuring daily cash forecasting is accurate, efficient, and timely including forecasting all external AP/AR and intercompany AP/AR Prepare and analyze the daily Cashflow worksheet showing forecasted balances in all accounts Prepare a daily Margin calculation worksheet based on financial trades with Mizuho Manage and continue ongoing relationships and Interactions with external counterparties, Accounting, IT, Trading, Marketing, Operations, Risk, and other Mitsui companies Responsible for training and educating new employees and junior staff members to enable a more productive understanding and execution of routine job functions. Monitor Process Documentation Updates Aid Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office Accounting as needed QUALIFICATIONS: Must be an extremely motivated and self-driven Analyst able to perform within a high-level position exhibiting consistency, attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently and assume any duty within the group when needed. Exhibits confidence in building relationships and Interacting with external counterparties, Accounting, IT, Trading, Marketing, Operations, Risk, and other Mitsui companies Demonstrate proficiency utilizing ETRM or comparable Trading systems Working proficiency and knowledge in Excel, i.e. mining/manipulating data EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline preferred or equivalent related work experience. Knowledge and/or experience working within the Energy sector is required. Minimum of four (4) years in a trading or related environment is required. Having experiences of using Allegro and its respective power add-in (eg. Adapt2 etc) is a plus. Accounting or Finance background is a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluent verbal and written skills in English. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: None required.
