Provides all levels of desktop support for Windows workstations, in addition to limited network support of Hoke Countys technology infrastructure.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Performs routine to complex technical work in the maintenance and troubleshooting of computer software, hardware, and network-attached devices, provides identification, resolution escalation, referral, and follow-up on desktop, network, and application issues.
Performs the installation and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and all other peripherals; implements system and software upgrades. Performs problem diagnosis and resolution for hardware and software problems as required, including troubleshooting general network connectivity (e.g., IP protocols and configurations), configures network printers, and acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data.
Assists with the planning, design, research, and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary, tracks and documents support activities. Carries out strategic initiatives for the continuous improvement of Hoke Countys IT infrastructure.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals, such as central processing units, servers, monitors, cables, network systems, printers, and VoIP systems; Possession of specific system certifications is desirable, including Microsoft Certified Professional, A+ or NET+ Certifications. Constant attention to customer service, ability to communicate with all levels of end-users (verbal and written), excellent time-management and organizational skills, analytical and solution oriented. Self-motivated and goal-oriented
DESIRABLE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Associate degree (Information Technology or related field) plus one year experience in a Windows Network environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, hold and maintain a valid driver's license and pass a substance abuse screening.
