Stamping Engineer

Talascend is seeking qualified candidates to apply for a Stamping Engineer located in Canton, MS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide Frequent Project Updates on Projects as Required.
Study and Learn Aluminum Forming, Edge Cutting for multiple materials (5000 / 6000 Series Aluminum). Document as Assigned.
Manage New Model Part Trials from Tooling thru Launch Activities as Assigned.
Supervise Press and Stamping Operations During Trial Phase for New Product Launch
Root Cause and Corrective Actions for Production Downtime Issues
Understand CM for BS Hemming Process for new materials. What are the CM's areas of Concern? Learn about body shop hemming process and get feedback on countermeasures that can be used for Stamping to support Body in this process.
Sense hidden risks in advance and take a quick action with company Management to for risk mitigation.
Cooperate with plant trial SVs in other shops to solve vehicle problem by most efficient way.
Report to company Stamping Engineering Management on a set frequency to share information requested from the management team to investigate.
Investigate quality issue especially aluminum parts, and judge appropriate countermeasure by strong relationship with all Shops.
Understand Opportunities for Improvement and Report back to company Stamping Engineering as Opportunities are Identified.
Create and Revise Work Instructions and Processes as Defined
Experience in Stamping Die Manufacturability, Qualification Process and Die Trials both Internationally and Domestically

REQUIREMENTS:

Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited University.
5+ Years Stamping Experience, in a high volume, complex stamping environment.
Experience with High Production Universal and Progressive Die Manufacturing.
Proficient in Problem Solving (8'ds, Red-X, Six-Sigma Tools)
Knowledge of Stamping Die Manufacturing and Automation for Press Lines
Knowledge of GD&T, CMM and Scanning Process
Supplier Automotive Experience is a Plus
