Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Head Custodian, the substitute is responsible for the general maintenance, cleaning and minor repair of a physical facility(s); performs other related tasks. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES •Cleans an assigned area or facility daily. - Mops, sweeps or vacuums all floors - Dust, clean, scrubs all horizontal and vertical above floor surfaces and furniture - Empties and disposes of all trash - Scours and cleans all restroom facilities - Replenishes supplies of soap and paper materials in restrooms •Performs regularly scheduled cleanings of the nature of stripping, waxing, and shampooing of floors and cleaning of windows, ceilings, and other fixtures. - Strips, spot cleans, waxes and buffs all floors - Shampoos carpet areas - Washes windows inside and out - Removes, scours, clean lighting fixtures, panels, ceiling panels •Polices and cleans yard areas daily or as required. - Alerts trash service or other of overflows or missed rounds •Diagnoses, replaces, repairs or refers to maintenance problems of the nature of drainage or another stoppage, furniture, fixture, and touch-up maintenance. •Performs regularly scheduled painting of buildings, inside and out. •Recommends inventories required to clean, repair, or replace. - Requisitions materials and supplies - Assists in the cafeteria and after hour function clean-up as required. - Sets up and removes furniture for special functions. •Maintains or reports student conduct discovered acting contrary to district/facility policies. •Monitors variances in physical plant and operations that might affect operating conditions. •Assists others in repairs and general maintenance. Requirements / Qualifications10 years of education 1-year previous experience desired Knowledge of methods and materials regarding the cleaning of physical facilities.
