The Role:

The Trading Assistant (TA) role is an entry-level position within our Trading & Quant organization and gives you broad exposure to the whole business while preparing you for a specialized role as a Trader.

As a TA, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced traders on an open outcry trading floor. You will play a vital role in identifying trading opportunities and communicating with traders and risk managers throughout the trading day. The focus will be on opportunities to build trading intuition via real time interactions with the market.

Due to the dynamic nature of this business, we cultivate an environment of continuous learning and growth through an in-house education department. Through formal classroom work, mock trading, and real-time practical exposure, you will gain a holistic introduction to the derivatives market.

  • Introduction to options pricing, theory, and trading philosophies, in addition to (optional) programming courses
  • Rotation through different product areas and responsibilities
  • One-on-one mentorship from senior members in the firm
  • Strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration
  • Opportunity to develop skills making fast-paced autonomous trading decisions

  • No prior knowledge or experience in finance is needed
Key requirements:
  • You are a recent college graduate or expect to graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree between December 2023-June 2024. All majors and concentrations welcome.
  • You have a demonstrated record of success (academics, awards, extra-curriculars, etc.)
  • You are willing to relocate to Chicago, IL
  • You are eligible to work in the United States with no restrictions and will not require Visa sponsorship now or in the future.
