The Operational Excellence Practitioner will be responsible for leading multiple projects and is critical to provide leadership to multiple implementation teams while overseeing project execution across the network of global converting plants. The Practitioner will ensure successful completion of key milestones, identify, and resolve project impediments and address project risk. The role will ensure effective communication with all key stakeholders on status of execution to plan, issues/risks, and mitigation plans. The Practitioner will develop and maintain strong working relationships with Business Leaders and other leaders across the organization.

How you will impact WestRock:

Work with leadership to align on priorities, business needs, project opportunities for process improvement, deployment, and execution.

Lead 2-4 Operational Excellence projects concurrently, potentially at multiple converting locations across Consumer and Corrugated Packaging.

Execute projects improving upon enterprise priorities (Quality, Waste, Reliability, etc.)

Maintain successful improvement performance with project teams.

Develop and transition project sustainment plans and standard work to site leadership.

Work effectively with operations to translate process improvement findings into production specifications and standard work.

Maintain project documentation within the project management system.

Document project materials and performance metrics in identified repository systems.

Determine opportunities for project replication and share as needed.

Ensure standards of project execution for DMAIC and kaizen projects are met.

Review and analyze data to identify opportunities for site improvements.

Utilize continuous improvement concepts and tools to train and coach site teams.

Partner with site teams and peers to develop project pipeline to sustain site performance.

What you need to succeed:

BS/BA; Technical Degree

10+ relevant years with progressive growth in leadership and business impact

Experience with operational excellence system implementations.

A working knowledge of systems and processes of converting plants.

Effective communicator, strong prioritization with execution focus, able to direct multiple projects to align and support parallel project deliverables.

Proven/ strong ability to drive continuous improvement, innovation and develop talent.

Enables and empowers, follows-up to ensure high quality execution.

Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment.

Have sound analytical skills and the ability/willingness to make critical decisions.

Driven with a sense of urgency to achieve results.

Clear and effective communicator at all levels
