Job Description:

The Manager of Talent Development is responsible for the creation, implementation, and administration of programs that evaluate, enhance, and improve employee and organizational performance. This highly collaborative role will be responsible for working cross-functionally to build and execute talent and development initiatives across RaceTrac.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and executes talent management initiatives across the organization including performance management, goal setting, talent reviews, talent forecasts, and succession planning.
  • Drives organizational effectiveness by developing and maintaining comprehensive assessment and measuring techniques including but not limited to hiring assessments, performance reviews, and 360 evaluations.
  • Builds and drives talent programs, including High-Po Programs, mentorship programs, and other enterprise-wide development initiatives. Works cross-functionally to define purpose, create curriculum and materials, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Develops and maintains competency catalog and dictionary; ensures competencies are clearly and accurately illustrated at each job level; works with Compensation COE on aligning competencies to job codes; works cross-functionally to ensure that competency development opportunities accurately represents/educates/trains on desired behaviors.
  • Owns catalog of external development opportunities (conferences, coaching, etc.), identifies and maintains partnerships, evaluates vendor quality, and ensures that opportunities align to developing desired RaceTrac behaviors.
  • Using detailed analysis of internal and market trends, recommends department or enterprise-wide upskilling efforts; partners with HR stakeholders on solutioning for opportunities and capitalizing on strengths.
  • In conjunction with Employee Experience, Total Rewards, and HR Leadership, defines onboarding roadmap, ensuring program aligns to organizational needs and drives successful assimilation of new hires across all levels of the organization.
  • In partnership with HR COE's, responsible for RaceTrac's employee surveys including onboarding, stay, engagement and offboarding surveys. Ensures surveys capture comprehensive feedback and regularly disseminates results. Owns talent and development portion of all surveys and analysis and makes recommendations as a result of themes.
  • Serves as functional subject matter expert on Workday talent and performance processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of HR functions and continually researches, benchmarks, and provides analysis and recommendations on best practices to support talent performance and development efforts.
  • Carries out ad hoc project support to cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
  • Advanced experience using MS Office Suite preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in talent consulting & research, organizational design, or similar areas preferred
  • Proven ability to understand organizational culture and adjust recommendations accordingly
  • Able to synthesize information and extract themes, even when not initially apparent
  • Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills; able to effective articulate concepts and processes
  • Able to connect with and present to all levels in the organization, including executive leadership
