Events/Banquet Servers

Reports to: Event/Banquet Captain Part-time Position 

Job Summary: This role involves a high level of customer service with clients and event staff, and ensuring that all events run smoothly and meet or exceed client and venue management expectations. The Event Server plays a critical role in ensuring the success of events, from pre-event planning involvement and initial setup to final breakdown, with a particular focus on food and beverage setup, presentation, service, and teardown. 

Key Responsibilities:

Food and Beverage Setup and Presentation:    Setup of food and beverage areas, ensuring they meet client specifications and venue standards.    Coordinate with the kitchen and catering teams to ensure timely prep, setup and presentation of food.    Ensure that all food and beverage items are displayed attractively and replenished as needed.    Handle food and beverages in a manner consistent with safe food handling practices.

Event Execution and Service:    Physically set up catering, audiovisual, and other meeting needs.    Address any issues that arise promptly and efficiently, including special dietary requests or last-minute changes.    Maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring that guests are attended to and satisfied.

Event Teardown and Cleanup:    Oversee the breakdown and cleanup of food and beverage areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stored.    Ensure that the venue is left in excellent condition, with all areas cleaned and reset as needed.    Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of the event and identify areas for improvement.

Client Interaction and Customer Service:    Address any client concerns or requests promptly and professionally.    Report any issues to Captain immediately for resolution

Logistics and Problem Solving:    Anticipate potential issues and know the contingency plans to address them.    Might assist in coordinating logistics such as transportation, accommodation, and special requests for guests.    Handle emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and effectively.

Post-Event Activities:    Oversee the breakdown and cleanup of event spaces, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and the venue is left in excellent condition.  

Qualifications:    A degree in hospitality management, event planning, or a related field is preferred.    1 to 3 years of experience in related type events with an understanding of event logistics and operations.    Proven team player and skills, with the ability to get along with a diverse team and clients.    Excellent organizational and time-management skills.    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.    Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.    Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Physical Requirements:    Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.    Capability to lift and carry heavy items, such as tables, chairs, and event equipment.    Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks as needed.

Working Conditions:    Fast-paced, dynamic environment.    Interaction with a wide range of clients and guests.    Collaboration with various departments to ensure the successful execution of events.
