The Sr. Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, while also supervising and mentoring staff.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Engage in and oversee the preparation and accuracy of the general ledger, trial balances, and financial statements.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process, adhering to strict deadlines. This includes journal entries for legal entity close and consolidation for the enterprise.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and expense accounts, ensuring their timeliness and accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of bank financial statements including covenant calculations.
  • Assist with the preparation for sales and use tax returns and census reporting.
  • Provide special analyses as needed to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure proper accounting treatment of complex transactions.
Accounting Systems and Controls:
  • Maintain strong internal controls to ensure transaction integrity and data accuracy.
  • Assist with fixed asset control and depreciation calculations.
  • Experience with a leading ERP system SAP S/4 Hana, Oracle, Infor XA or a comparable software is strongly preferred.
  • Review trial balance for plausibility to identify potential errors.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Maintain excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
  • Partner with and respond to requests of external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in general accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting principles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience with an ERP system (e.g., AS/400, INFOR XA) is preferred, but willingness to learn a new system is essential.
