What you’ll do: The Brass Tacks Maintains standards for food and beverage quality, presentation, handling, sanitation, and safety. Follows all appropriate policies and procedures. Serves food and beverage to guests and provides quality customer service. Advises guests, clients and team members on matters relating to food and beverage offerings. Communicates directly with the Culinary and Stewarding teams during service to ensure proper client and guest service is being achieved. Leads division activities, overseeing daily operations of all Service outlets in the absence of upper management. Responds to internal and external inquiries and complaints and maintains favorable team member and guest relations as needed. Deals with guests’ challenges and communicates all issues to the Food and Beverage Managers. Assures that we exceed guest expectations by being responsive, engaged, and following through on all requests. Ensures a safe work environment, reporting unsafe conditions and equipment that needs repair immediately and that the work area is clean and orderly. Conducts a briefing or “line-up” with team members at the beginning of each shift to keep staff informed of updates, changes and/or problematic situations. Acts as a liaison between guests and team members, responds and works to resolve guest issues and concerns as necessary. Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards. Enters orders into computerized Point of Sale system and communicates any special requests to the culinary team. Ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages. Ensures that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature. Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items. Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures. Keeps work area, including guest dining area, clean and organized. Takes the lead on team members by training, motivating employees daily. Ensures all inventory needs are communicated to your Food and Beverage Manager before the items have run out. Prepares and maintains par levels for condiments/coffee/tea/juices needed throughout the day. Ensures all perishable opened items are dated and labeled. Ensures that all Par levels are maintained. Ensures back/front of the house areas are well kept, stocked, and maintained. Ensures all to-go items are properly stocked and maintained. Reports any maintenance needs immediately. Ensures the safety of our guests and team members are a high priority. The Nitty Gritty Previous experience as a lead server in a similar restaurant environment Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s) Don’t meet every single requirement?
