Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Controller to join our team. The Plant Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our manufacturing plant, ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures while providing strategic guidance to optimize plant performance and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee financial planning processes for the manufacturing plant.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide financial forecasts and variance analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  1. Cost Management:
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize plant efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory management processes, including inventory valuation, cycle counting, and reconciliation.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Coordinate with production and procurement teams to ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs.
  1. Financial Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings or recommendations.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the manufacturing plant, working closely with department heads to establish financial targets and objectives.
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide regular updates and analysis to management.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts to support decision-making and resource allocation.
  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and trends.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making and improve plant profitability.
  • Collaborate with corporate finance team to ensure alignment with overall company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
