Duties and responsibilities: Assist and support designs and construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models Assist the preparation of engineering designs by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data Create feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development (site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems) Perform calculations, prepare cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications, and write reports Assist in the production of engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection May assist in the training of junior staff and guide designers Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required Engineer in Training certification preferred 1 to 2 years of experience as a civil engineer, preferably with experience in site layout, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems Related internship experience for entry-level candidates is required Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D MicroStation and experience in stormwater modeling using WaterCAD or SWMM software is desired Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hires All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 Base salary range: $31.63 to $38.66 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description. Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market. Working conditions: Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
