SUMMARYDESCRIPTIONOFWORK
This Internship is intended for the intern who is completing an undergraduate social work degree, and whose primary professional goals are in the area of school and mental health social work. Intern will assist in classroom and therapy settings, assist with behavioral needs, support and work closely with other team members in providing programming benefits for each student. Entry level professional position. Educational requirements are specific. Decision making skills and problem-solving skills are required.
Work Schedule: Varied and flexible, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- *Provides mental health crisis intervention as needed.
- *Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
- Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics and other requirements.
- Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
- Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
- Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
- Performs other program related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Substantial completion of course work
- Strong understanding of at least two prevalent theories of therapeutic treatment and readiness to apply to practice
- Personal stability and maturity
- Prior human service experience
