We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team in Adairsville, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for design work related to new product development and current product management. Job Functions:

  • Independently lead large design projects with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize CREO CAD software for designing new products and managing current products.
  • Perform complex FEA analysis, demonstrating an expert understanding of loading conditions.
  • Manage conflicting priorities while leading teams to achieve common goals.
  • Analyze designs using detailed calculations and DFMEA.
  • Create detailed part/assembly drawings adhering to internal and industry drawing standards.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates to determine feasibility and cost targets.
  • Create task schedules to track project status and meet deadlines.
  • Support the service department in manual development.
  • Collaborate with test engineers by providing necessary data.
  • Participate in frequent video conferences with YJ and other locations after hours.

Critical Interfaces:
  • All Yanmar Japan R&D, Service, Factory, Quality Control.
  • Customers, dealers, consultants, and other external entities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Professional experience using GD&T.
  • Ability to design sheet metal parts, machined parts, and welded assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and/or electrical systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and well-organized.
  • Ability to work 8+ hours per day in a plant/office setting.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and shop equipment (mill, lathe, welder, and plasma cutter) is a plus.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of product design experience in a similar industry.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited school.
  • Experience with hydraulic and/or electrical design is a plus.
  • Experience in operating heavy equipment and shop equipment (mill, lathe, welder, and plasma cutter) is a plus.
  • This is a full-time position based in Adairsville, GA.
