Check school email at least twice during each work shift. Review online maintenance requests and assignments at the beginning of each shift and ensure all are addressed in a timely manner (acceptable to the Operations Coordinator). Clean and sanitize restrooms and refill dispensers using established practices, procedures, and schedules. Clean, dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs. Strip, clean buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors and vacuum carpets. Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms mops and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc. Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments. Wash accessible interior and exterior windows and clean blinds. Move furniture, equipment supplies and tools on an incidental basis. Lock and unlock, alarm and un-alarm assigned buildings: secure the building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows; report any unauthorized occupants; check toilets and sinks for running water; and turn off lights. Support the work of contracted landscapers in maintaining sidewalks and outside areas. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed. Assist with inventory control and security. Report any maintenance and safety issues immediately to supervisor. Address emergencies when necessary.Attend safety and other related meetings. Support and enforce all policies, school and governmental such as OSHA, school health and safety regulations and guidelines etc. Perform related duties as required.
