**Job Summary:**

The Financial Analyst Inventory & Costing will perform advanced cost accounting and margin analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related reports. This position also has responsibility for controlling inventory accuracy.

**Supervisory Responsibilities:**

* None

**Duties/ Responsibilities:**

* Gathers and complies cost information and maintains database concerning costs of production and inventory

* Develops procedures for accumulation systems and/or cost accounting functions

* Ensures accuracy of work orders and costs are flowing correctly though the system

* Works closely with Production & Inventory Control team in controlling and managing inventory costs

* Records and researches variable costs such as purchases of raw material, labor, and operation costs

* Reviews, analyzes, and reports actual costs to identify and correct inaccuracies

* Prepares necessary departmental and company-wide cost reports

* Reviews, analyzes, and reports actual profit margins

* Participates in month-end and year-end closings and distributes monthly performance reports to department heads

* Determines and recommends cost-effective solutions

* Performs other related duties as assigned

* Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures

* Performs other duties as assigned

**Required Skills/ Abilities:**

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Proficient in SAGE 100 and Microsoft Office Suites

* Thorough understanding of accounting procedures

* Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

* Excellent analytical and organization skills, with close attention to detail

* Ability to manage confidential information

**Education/ Experience:**

* Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration

* At least four (4) years of experience in cost accounting and manufacturing required

* CPA preferred

**Physical Requirements:**

* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

* Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
