Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional grooming products, has a challenging opportunity for a dynamic financial leader to fill the role of North America Controller at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

Contribute to the company's success by providing relevant data and analysis to influence company decision-making and performance, as well as financial strategic leadership and direction across the company's operations. Establish and maintain the overall accounting resources, systems, policies, and procedures that support effective and relevant financial reporting that conforms with internal accounting policies and U.S. GAAP principles. Ensure that the accounting functions operate efficiently and effectively, and strictly enforce the underlying management policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead and proactively manage the accounting resources to produce accurate and reliable financial results for both the North American operations and the global consolidation according to internal accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
  • Provide accurate and action-oriented reporting on the financial results of the organization on a monthly basis according to reporting expectations and deadlines.
  • Perform account reconciliations according to an established cycle that clearly identifies actions to improve the effectiveness of the accounting controls, and which results in no audit adjustments at year-end.
  • Ensure that income tax returns comply with federal and state regulations by providing accurate financial information to the external tax preparer on a timely basis, while having a basic understanding of the regulations that have an impact on the company's income tax liability.
  • Coordinate the annual audit of both the U.S. and consolidated financial results in line with budgets and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on major company initiatives and provide value-added financial analysis and support of business reviews and decision-making.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team focused on creating value for their respective business partners within the organization.
  • Establish performance measures for the accounting functions, and ensure that the most effective resources, systems, and policies are in place to achieve the targets on a consistent basis.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years in public accounting, with an additional 5-10 years of progressive experience in a consumer goods manufacturing organization that culminates in a controller or similar role
  • Active license as a Certified Public Accountant
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Dynamics 365 or similar ERP system
