The Data Architect position is based in Fort Lauderdale and will have end-to-end vision to see how a logical design will translate into one or more physical Databases, and how the Data will flow through the successive Stages involved. The incumbent will need to be able to address issues of Data Migration (Validation, Clean-up and Mapping), and will need to understand the importance of Data Dictionaries. This individual will also be responsible for providing technical leadership for projects and will be accountable for the end-to-end solution delivery. Additionally, this individual will be the focal and escalation point for all technical and technical delivery issues on the effort. This role drives the collaboration with all technology stakeholders including ITS teams, technology partners and vendors to ensure that the technical participants are effectively communicating and aligned on technical deliverables. This role does not have direct reports, but does lead cross-functional technical resources to deliver on desired outcomes. Architecture Responsibilities ● Delivery responsibility / accountability on business projects ● Responsible for the data architectural design and compliance of solutions ● Approval of detailed data designs and vendor data designs to ○ Ensure the adherence to enterprise standards ○ Reduce complexity ○ Increase reusability ● Drives down costs and complexity by using enterprise standards ● Designs data solutions that meet the best interest of multiple stakeholders including those of the project and enterprise level ● Designs solutions that leverage enterprise tools and have reusable components and services ● Works with business users to reduce technical data complexity introduced by business requirements ● Ensures data designs meet business requirements ● Collaborate with PMOs, business and Enterprise Architects to develop a data strategy for the organization ● Participate in Data Governance meeting to provide guidance and advocate how we can help the business be more successful, including participation with Data Management organizations to Define ownership, usage, security and quality for all data ● Works directly with Data Analysts, Solution Architects and Vendors to understand and validate requirements and translate business requirements into technical requirements and designs ● Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. ● Logical design of Data Integration/Movement, Databases, Data Warehouses and Multidimensional Databases including data flows, conception model and logical models ● Serving as a consulting resource for Delivery and Support ● Creating strategy and recommendations on a company’s future data and tech policies ● Collaborating with other team members to build the ideal database, data integration and business intelligence infrastructure and platforms ● Establish Data Architecture Design Patterns and best practices ● Forward thinking on new technologies and patterns ● Technology strategy and roadmaps Technology Leadership Responsibilities ● Acts as the lead Technology Services representative in the delivery of technology solutions ● Provides overall technical leadership and directs teams in the delivery of technology solutions. ● Collaborates with Project Managers, Portfolio Managers and technical stakeholders to deliver on the following responsibilities for end-to-end technical delivery: ● Assesses risks, anticipates bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and collaborates to drive toward mutually beneficial outcomes ● Drives to effectively resolve and provide awareness for technical issues and risks ● Manages the partner relationship to ensure delivery of technical work done by 3rd party partners or vendors. ● Provides feedback on performance of internal technical team members to their leaders ● Minimum of 10 years experience as a Data Architect ● Extensive knowledge of data integration, data warehouse and BI techniques ● Leadership and strong communication to influence architecture and design decisions ● Strong analytical and problem solving skills ● Good understanding of Teradata, Informatica and Cognos – a plus ● Communications and Presentation Skills including ability to communicate data concepts to business users ● Good understanding of Data Governance ● Data modeling and design ● SQL, NoSQL and Big Data knowledge ● Security knowledge ● Data Analysis ● Data Modeling ● Data Integration ● Data Warehousing ● Canonical Data Modeling ● Tools knowledge for Data Disciplines ● A Good team Player ● A wide degree of creativity and lateral thinking is expected. ● Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals ● A background in computer science and database management is a plus ● Organization and Project Management ● Leadership Capabilities ● Possess strong technical and SDLC experience ● Attention to detail ● Creative problem solving abilities ● Coaching and Influencing ● Excellent communication ● Strong vendor relationship management skills Messaging Services
