St. Charles Hospital is a proud member of Catholic Health and has served the residents of the Three Village area for more than 110 years. St. Charles is renowned for its outstanding customer service and scored as one of the top hospitals on Long Island in the delivery of high quality care. This non-profit hospital features three centers of excellence: Maternal/Child services, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. St. Charles also offers services in general surgery, colon/rectal surgery, bariatric surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, epilepsy, stroke care, Female Pelvic Floor Disorders Center, and a nationally accredited Sleep Disorders Center.
Job Details:The Speech Language Pathologist provides treatment of children and adults for our multiservice pediatric and adult outpatient area with need to cover inpatient as well.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates clients/patients and determines causal factors for speech, language and/or hearing impairments; gathers data related to patient's communication disorder, selects appropriate evaluation tool(s) for the purpose of assessment.
- Administers diagnostic testing procedures to determine the extent of the patient's impairment and the prognosis for improvement.
- Develops individualized treatment programs for patients diagnosed as needing speech and language intervention.
- Areas addressed include articulation, voice, fluency, receptive and expressive language skills, oral motor competence, dysphagia and auditory skills.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. (CCC)
- New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) experience is strongly preferred but not required, will train
- Previous experience with adult neurologic population is preferred.
- Hours require evening coverage.
- TSSLD certification is required within first year of employment.
Posted Salary Range:
USD $67.39 - USD $67.39 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidates qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
