Sr Staff Accountant

Reporting to the controller, the Sr. Staff Accountant maintains financial records and ensures proper recording of financial transactions. You will identify and record monthly accruals, amortization and analyze and reconcile account balances.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with audits i.e., year-end, bank audit, insurance audits etc.
- Calculate commissions for the sales team.
- Manage income and expense accounts (i.e. marketing analyses, legal analysis, freight analysis)
- Prepare accounting reports and assist finance department with budgets.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analysis including but not limited to cash accounts, accounts receivable, prepaids, payables etc.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly bank reporting requirements.
- Regularly work within the General Ledger and prepare journal entries for monthly closing.
- Review and respond to tax notices and coordinate with our tax preparers for resolution.
- Other tasks as needed.
Listed below is representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required or desired.
- 3 - 4 years of related experience in accounting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA and public accounting experience a plus, but not required.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, experience with SAGE 100 a plus.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Very detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and high integrity
- Must be self-directed and resourceful with a high level of initiative.
- Work independently as well as in team settings.
