As a Staff Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the design, validation and manufacturing of the electrical vehicle chassis components of our autonomous vehicle platform. You will work on custom designs specialized to the need for our AI stack, plan and build electrical architectures from the prototype phase up to series production both for power distribution as well as communication networks. You will have the complete ownership of electrical components including the architecture, requirements definition, component and vendor selection, build process and validation/verification. The role also includes the close collaboration with adjacent teams responsible for integration and design of various other hardware components as well as the core software development. This role is onsite at least 4 days a week at our Mountain View, CA office

What you'll do:

Plan and design vehicle EE architectures for commercial vehicle platforms Manage integration with other components to gain a global optimal design Supervise electrical manufacturing from prototyping up to series manufacturing internal as well as with external partners Lead strategic discussions such as power consumption, dimensioning, safety Ensure complete electrical process from architectural design to manufacturing-ready drawings Work with internal and external partners and vendors to achieve these goals What we're looking for:

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar, ideally with focus on automotive electronics 8+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for automotive platforms Demonstrated ability to develop and implement full time critical systems Competency in commercial vehicle design, power requirements and best practices for wiring harness design Experience with automotive embedded systems. Experience with CAN, LIN analysis, and debugging tools (PCAN, CANalyzer, CANape, etc.) Familiarity with electrical CAD software like Zuken, Solidworks electrical, Siemens Capital More about Gatik:
