Quality Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Participate in daily cross functional interaction and teamwork with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and Customers
Monitor quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
Collect and analyze production data to evaluate product quality and stop production if serious product defects are present
Drive root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
Support in-house program audits and corrective action program in support of AS9100 certification.
Lead both CSI and GSI inspections and provide customer all documentation required
Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, or quality trends
Review statistical studies, regulatory standards and trends in the field of quality control
Identify critical points in the Value Stream and specify sampling procedures
Drive qualification of product and process changes to ensure only the highest levels of quality are accepted
Run and lead internal audits with Defense, Aerospace and Customer Auditors
Provide support for failure analysis as required
Instruct others in quality control and analytical procedures
Review and approve quality document changes - Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), deviations
REQUIREMENTS:
BA or BS degree in Quality, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
2-3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a Manufacturing or Electronics environment
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field; Experience completing internal audits
Demonstrated ability to rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Proficiency in Lean Principles and Implementation Tools and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Educational background in Structured Problem Solving, 5S, Mistake-Proofing and process capability tools
Familiarity with Minitab
ASQC Quality Engineer Certification
