We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the South Strand ED which is part of the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare.Shift: PRN (as needed)Position Summary:Under the direction and supervision of the ED RN, administers care consistent with standard ofcare to include: Administering medications in accordance to the Paramedic scope of practice; providing personal hygiene assistance or total care; assistance with ADLs; transport of patients to various destinations throughout facility for tests and treatments and for admission; proactively managing room turnover and cleaning rooms between ED patients; assists with waiting room flow management; monitoring of vital signs; initiating IV sites; performing phlebotomy; collecting specimens lab and/or point of care testing to include but not limited to finger stick blood glucose; performing EKGs within acceptable emergent timeframes according to established guidelines; observing cardiac monitors and reporting any abnormalities or unusual rhythms to the RN or physician immediately.What qualifications you will need:Active Paramedic Certification; National Registry or South Carolina State CertificationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommendedAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) through the American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationGraduate of Paramedic programrequiredBenefitsGrand Strand Medical Center, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
