About the Team

The Corporate Development (aka M&A) team primarily manages inorganic activity (acquisitions, divestitures) at FIS from strategy and deal sourcing through to deal execution. In addition, the team supports development of FIS's corporate strategy, drawing on their M&A, corporate finance and market knowledge and expertise.

FIS has historically been very active in this space in both large-scale deals through to smaller scale deals and significant minority investments. In addition, FIS has pursued a strategy of active portfolio management and divested several business units over the same time period. The Corporate Development team has played a critical role in all these transactions. With ~$2B annual free cash flow, FIS expects to continue to be acquisitive in the coming years and the Corporate Development team will be critical to that strategy.

What you will be doing:
  • Supporting M&A (covering acquisitions and divestitures) processes including strategic rationale, project management, due diligence phase, negotiations with vendor/bidder, managing third party advisors
  • Developing M&A strategy including target landscape, pipeline management, divestiture candidates, deal structures
  • Working closely with business partners to evaluate specific M&A opportunities' strategic merits, including the identification of strategic revenue and cost synergy opportunities, as well as key risks and alternatives considerations
  • Collaborating with Finance in support of financial modelling used to analyze and underwrite specific M&A opportunities and strategies
  • Leading cross functional collaboration between M&A and key corporate partners across the company
  • Contributing to shaping overall M&A strategy working with FIS executive team, lines of business and functional areas
  • Assisting in preparation of corporate strategy and M&A materials to support Board of Directors meetings, as needed
  • Contributing to the enhancement of Corporate Development's existing processes and workflows
What you will need:
  • Combination of Mergers and Acquisition, Project management, financial modelling experience, and Financial Technology industry experience strongly preferred
  • Professional services experience in either a top tier management consulting firm or top tier investment bank, preferably focused on financial and technology sector
  • Experienced in strategy, corporate finance, portfolio management, competitive intelligence and primary research, preferably in the financial services technology industry
  • Experience with both acquisitions and divestitures, preferably in the financial services technology industry
  • Skill to create and explain complex financial models that support executive decision-making
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and management across technical and business functions across FIS and client or partner organizations
  • Demonstrated success working in teams and managing and projects, including ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
