The Live Oak School District was established in 1872 and currently serves approximately 1,700 students in three elementary schools, one middle school, one K-8 independent charter school, and one alternative school. The student population is 50% Hispanic, 31% White, 19% Other, 30% English learner, and 60% Socioeconomically disadvantaged.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Nutrition Services, provide culinary and nutrition leadership to the Child Nutrition Services program. This role will include planning, coordinating and leading the Live Oak School District Food Lab Program and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the LOSD central kitchen. The LOSD Food Lab Program will provide students the opportunity to prepare and cook recipes that are compliant with the National School Lunch Program and Child Adult Care Food Program. This role specifically includes leading and overseeing students' food preparation in a commercial kitchen. This role will perform day-to-day operations in a multiple task environment. Order food and other items as necessary. Complete nutrition analysis to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines. Uses and is familiar with a computer and computer software. Represents the Child Nutrition Program in a positive manner and performs necessary public relations work with a variety of vendors and is liaison with employees related to menu management. Maintains accurate records for State and federal meal reimbursement. Provides a safe and sanitary work environment for employees.
