Youth Specialist, School Age Programs

The YMCA is seeking energetic and dedicated child care Youth Specialists to provide direct supervision in a safe, fun and educational environment for all School Based program participants. Our Leaders provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. PROGRAM HOURS:

Before-school hours: 6:30 am - 8:30am. After-school hours: 2pm - 6:00 pm. Flexible schedules may consist of before-school, after school or a combination split shift

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Supervises an assigned group of children to ensure safety* Nurtures children and provides academic growth opportunities that support the school curriculum* Engages children by facilitating program activities that are designed to enrich their lives.* Establishes a positive rapport with children, parents, and staff while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Must be 18 years of age or older* Must have a high school diploma, GED, certificate of completion, or provide proof of enrollment in high school or a GED program if graduation is anticipated within 2 years.* 1 year previous child care experience is preferred* Desire and ability to work with children of all ages* Demonstrated responsibility and dependability* Excellent communication skills* CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred
