Location: 10848 70th Road 2E, Forest Hills, NY 11375 Primary Responsibilities: Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile Assists patients with signing in and completing registration Enters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into Epic Verifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefits Collects co-payments and patient balances Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages Assists physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referralappointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testing Assists with other tasks as assigned You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or higher) 1+ years of customer service experience or experience in a medical office Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft office programs Ability to work 37.5 hours per week between the following hours Monday & Tuesday 8:30am - 6:30pm Wednesday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm Every other weekend 8:00am - 2:00pm Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans Epic experience Interest in cross training as a Medical Assistant New York Residents Only: The salary range for New York residents is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour.
