Our client, a growing company in the manufacturing industry, is searching for a talented Cost Accountant to join their high-performing team. In this role, youll play a vital part in optimizing financial processes and driving profitability, as they implement some exciting new technology.

Heres what youll be doing:

  • Cost Accounting: Analyze direct and indirect costs associated with production, operations, and services.
  • Variance Analysis: Investigate and explain cost variances to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing and maintaining accurate cost budgets and forecasts.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed cost reports and financial statements to support informed decision-making.
  • Cost Control & Optimization: Recommend and implement strategies to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and contribute to a strong financial control environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Operations, Production) to understand their cost needs and provide valuable cost insights.

To be successful, youll possess:

  • A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cost Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles (e.g., cost allocation methods, variance analysis).
  • Ability to show understanding of accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
