Description

Mount Sinai South Nassau is an acute care and teaching hospital with 455 beds located in Oceanside, NY. The award-winning nonprofit facility is part of the Mount Sinai Health System. South Nassau is currently undergoing a huge expansion including a 4-story tower that will include all new operating rooms, PACU, ICUs and expanded level 2 emergency services. In addition to the main campus in Oceanside, Mount Sinai Health System has nine additional satellite facilities throughout the region. Our group currently services 30 anesthetizing locations.

Case Assignments

OB, general, endo, ortho, bariatrics, oncology, vascular, plastics, outpatient; everything except hearts.

Shifts

26 weeks per year; Monday-Monday; 7:00 PM-7:00 AM.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMC and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician
