Senior Financial Analyst

WesternNew England University is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to serveas the chief accounting professional for the Controller's Office. The SeniorFinancial Analyst is primarily responsible for financial reporting; managingthe accounting for the University, including month end close, investment andendowment accounting; and post grant management for federal, state, and localgrants. This position prepares internal and external financial reports andrelated analysis and will lead and support management's initiatives and makerecommendations to achieve greater efficiencies and improve internal controls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with an accounting emphasis.
  • Two years of experience in non-profit accounting or three to five years in another accounting field.
  • Experience with grant accounting is highly desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and practices relevant to Higher Education.
  • Understanding of research administration guidelines for both Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in a university setting.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
