Work Hours: Swing Shift 5:30 am 2:00 pm & 11:30 am 8:00 pm Job Summary: The Cook prepares and serves food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients, employees and special events. They ensure the provision of adequate nutrition services, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and coordinate duties with the Food Service department. Responsibilities: Prepare, season, and cook food for facility patients, employees, visitors, and special functions. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established standards. Coordinate and assist in overall functions of the Food Service department. Work with the Registered Dietitian to ensure adequate nutrition services for quality patient care. Coordinate with the Director to ensure daily operations of the dietary department are carried out. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) or 2 years of cooking experience. Experience with modified diets and at least 3 years in commercial or institutional food preparation, or 2 years as an assistant cook, or an Associates Degree or equivalent in Culinary Arts. Food Management Certificate within 6 months of employment. Ability to read and write in English. Safety Sensitive?Designated Position.
