This job position reports to the Civil Engineering Director.The position requires a qualified individual to conduct the full civil design of wind projects, which includes site planning, turbine access road layout, crane path layout, drainage and grading design, and construction support. The position also includes full civil design of solar projects, including site planning, access road layout, permitting support, grading, drainage, fencing, and construction support. General civil design, including transportation and infrastructure engineering, are also included. Responsibilities include hydrology and hydraulics, drainage design with erosion control, and horizontal and vertical roadway design. The position requires proven ability to interface with clients, coordinate with other internal staff and disciplines, and a commitment to QA/QC, safety, and on-time deliverables.Field LabelEssential ResponsibilitiesDiscuss project requirements with the client while delivering value engineeringAnalyze survey, mapping, and materials-testing data to complete work assignments using computer modelling softwareCreate and review drawings using CAD toolsAssess the environmental impact and risk connected to projectsBid proposal supportManage multiple projectsEnsure sites meet legal guidelines and health and safety requirementsDeliver civil engineering designs and optimization in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and industry practicesDay-to-day management of assigned projectsPlan, define project tasks, schedule, and deliver on-time execution of civil scope of work and project deliverablesWork closely with the RRC Project Managers and Civil Engineering Group Manager in the successful execution of workBe responsive to the needs of the client and project requirements10% travel is expected and can include overnight stays for several daysJobsite visits require ability to traverse uneven or rough terrain, including bending, stooping, twisting, and climbingSitting is involved for most of the day while in the office but a raised desk workstation is availableMinimal lifting requirement of 20 pounds or less on an infrequent basisBenefitsRRC is committed to investing in talented employees because we recognize that healthy, happy employees provide the best path to sustaining a successful business.
