We are seeking an experienced Night Shift Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a 7 on 7 off position with rotating weekends. **Job Summary** We are looking for a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to patients, evaluate medication orders, and dispense medication and other pharmaceutical supplies. **Responsibilities** * Provides pharmaceutical care to assigned patients * Evaluates and interprets physician orders * Dispenses medication and other pharmaceutical supplies * Assesses feasibility, compounds or verifies the compounding of extemporaneous products * Prepares IV admixtures and compounds sterile products * Independently responds to non-evaluative drug information requests * Monitors and takes appropriate action to ensure optimum patient drug therapy * Reviews patient profile to determine contraindications with the prescription * Dispenses controlled substances and maintains perpetual inventory * Provides technical supervision of support personnel * Maintains own knowledge of current trends and developments in the field * Participates in departmental and hospital education programs * Contributes to the achievement of established goals and objectives **Requirements** * Doctoral degree Pharm D or an equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy * 1-2 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting * PGY-1 preferred * RPH - Registered Pharmacist Licensure in the state of Maryland * Board certification preferred * Verbal and written communication skills * Basic computer skills preferred **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** * Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and thoroughness * Resolves discrepancies of medication orders through communication with the physician, clinical pharmacist, or nursing staff * Recommends alternative products when appropriate * Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams
