This Dosimetrist Senior will be providing coverage at our satellite radiation therapy facility at Stony Point. Although this dosimetrist will be the sole on-site dosimetrist, there will be additional support provided by our downtown Adult Outpatient Pavilion dosimetrists as needed.
The Stony Point dosimetrist will be performing 2D, 3D, and VMAT treatment planning utilizing Eclipse and preparing treatment within ARIA. A CT simulator is located on-site along with one Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator with a current workload of 20-25 patient treated per day.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current CMD
Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of four (4) years of full-time dosimetry experience to include IMRT, stereotactic or brachytherapy planning
Experience PREFERRED: N/A
Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Science (e.g. chemistry, biophysics, dosimetry, radiation therapy, radiologic science or other physical science)
Education/training PREFERRED:
Master's Degree in Dosimetry from a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program
Independent action(s) required:
Actions carried out by Senior Dosimetrists without prior approval include routine computer and simple calculations for radiotherapy treatment planning, image acquisition, consultation, and treatment aid device fabrication and dose measurements with thermo luminescent dosimeters.
Supervisory advice and guidance are given for any non-routine or complex treatment planning and/or calibration.
